By accessing or using Essence ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including free and paid users.
Essence is an AI-powered personal branding tool that analyzes photos to generate aesthetic profiles including style recommendations, color palettes, scent suggestions, and more. The Service is provided for entertainment and inspiration purposes.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Essence. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
Essence offers the following plans:
All purchases are processed through Stripe and are subject to Stripe's terms. Paid features are unlocked on your device and browser. Clearing your browser data may reset your access — we are not responsible for lost access due to browser clearing.
Due to the digital nature of our service, all sales are final. If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from accessing paid features, contact us at hello@getmyessence.com within 7 days of purchase and we'll make it right.

By uploading a photo, you represent that you have the right to upload it and that it does not violate any third party's rights. You retain ownership of photos you upload. You grant us a limited license to process your photo through our AI systems solely to generate your profile.
Photos are transmitted to Anthropic's API for analysis and are not stored on our servers. Please only upload photos of yourself or photos you have explicit permission to use.
The profiles, recommendations, and suggestions generated by Essence are created by artificial intelligence and are intended for entertainment and inspiration only. They do not constitute professional styling, medical, psychological, or lifestyle advice. Results may vary and are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
The Essence name, logo, design, and underlying technology are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use our branding without written permission. The AI-generated profile content belongs to you — share it freely.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will meet your expectations. AI-generated content is inherently probabilistic and may sometimes be inaccurate or unexpected.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Essence shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claims shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.
The $8/month plan includes up to 50 readings and 50 refinements per month. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that show patterns of automated or abusive usage. We will attempt to contact you before taking any action.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice. For paid subscribers, we will provide at least 30 days notice before any major changes that affect paid features, and offer a prorated refund if we discontinue the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify users of significant changes by updating the date at the top and, where appropriate, by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.
